It is no surprise that tourism is one of Costa Rica’s most important economic drivers, before the COIVD19 pandemic tourism accounted for 8% of the countries GDP and the tourism sector accounted for 9% of the countries jobs. While Costa Rica is far from reaching pre covid19 numbers, June 2021 was the biggest month for tourism since the pandemic began. Costa Rica welcomed  117,000 tourists 80% of whom came from the United States.

National tourism has been stronger than ever.
